Metro Wide Roofing restores tiled and metal roofs across metro Melbourne. A restoration brings a tired roof back to a sound, sealed and freshly coated finish rather than replacing it. We start with an on-roof inspection, send a written quote within two business days, and book the work around Melbourne’s weather. Every restoration is covered by our 12-month workmanship warranty, and the Dulux membrane finish carries a 15-year manufacturer warranty. Call 0466 477 008 or book an inspection with the form.
What does a roof restoration include?
A full restoration is a set sequence, not a patch-up. Depending on the roof, yours will include:
- On-roof inspection with photos of every issue we find
- High-pressure clean of the whole roof with equipment made for tiled roofs
- Re-bedding of ridge and hip capping where the old mortar has failed
- Flexi-pointing of all ridge and hip capping in a colour to match the roof
- Replacement of broken or failed tiles, and new Zincalume or Colorbond valleys with storm seal strips where the old ones have rusted
- Full clean and preparation of the surface
- Primer and two coats of Dulux Acratex roof membrane in your chosen colour, about three times thicker than standard roof paint
- Final inspection, photos and written warranty
How do I know my roof needs restoring rather than replacing?
If the roof structure is sound and most tiles or sheets are intact, restoration is almost always the better value. Faded colour, worn pointing, a few failed tiles and surface build-up are all restoration territory. If we find widespread cracking, rusted-through sheets or a sagging frame, we tell you straight and quote a Colorbond re-roof instead.
What is the restoration process, step by step?
- Inspect
We get on the roof, photograph what we find and talk you through it in plain terms.
- Quote
A written, itemised quote within two business days. Fixed price, no surprises on the day.
- Prepare and repair
Re-bedding, repointing and any replacements, then a thorough surface clean.
- Coat and hand over
Primer and membrane coats, a final check, photos of the finished roof and your warranty in writing.
How long does a roof restoration take in Melbourne?
Most single-storey homes take two to four days on site, weather permitting. Coatings need dry conditions, so we schedule around the forecast and keep you posted. Two-storey homes and larger roofs are quoted with their own timeline.
What does a roof restoration cost?
Every roof is quoted after inspection, because size, pitch, access and the amount of repointing all change the price. The quote is fixed once you accept it, and a partial restoration (re-bedding and pointing only, or coating only) is quoted as an option where it makes sense.
Which coatings and colours do you use?
We use the Dulux Acratex roof membrane system, applied as a primer plus two colour coats by accredited applicators. It comes in the standard Australian roof colour range, so it can be matched to Colorbond gutters, fascia and trims, and the finish carries a 15-year Dulux manufacturer warranty.

Frequently asked questions
Do you restore both tiled and metal roofs?
Yes. We restore concrete and terracotta tiled roofs and metal roofs across metro Melbourne. The preparation differs by roof type, and the quote sets out exactly what yours needs.
Can I have only part of the restoration done?
Yes. Where it makes sense we quote a partial restoration as an option, such as re-bedding and repointing only, or cleaning and coating only.
Should I restore or replace my roof?
If the structure and most tiles or sheets are sound, restoration is usually the better value. If they are not, we say so and quote a Colorbond re-roof instead.
Does the restoration come with a warranty?
Yes. Every restoration carries our 12-month workmanship warranty in writing, and the Dulux Acratex membrane finish carries a 15-year manufacturer warranty.
